Central Coast Renovations
Home Renovations on the Central Coast
Full and partial home renovations on the Central Coast, from single-room upgrades to whole-home transformations.

Overview
Renovating your home is one of the biggest investments you will make — and on the Central Coast, the quality of the carpentry behind the finish makes all the difference. Shore Carpentry has spent more than 20 years transforming Central Coast homes, from single-room refreshes in Gosford weatherboards through to full-home renovations in Terrigal, Avoca and Copacabana. We are a licensed, insured carpentry team, and every renovation we take on is carried out by our own carpenters to the same standard we would expect in our own homes.
Every renovation starts with a free on-site consultation. We walk the space with you, listen to how you actually live in the home, and talk through what is realistic within your budget and timeframe. That conversation shapes a detailed fixed-price quote, so there are no surprise variations halfway through the job. We will also flag anything structural, waterproofing-related or council-approval-related early, before it becomes an expensive problem.
What we renovate
Our carpentry background means we take on the whole home, not just cosmetic updates. Common Central Coast renovations we deliver include kitchen renovations with custom cabinetry and stone benchtops, bathroom renovations with waterproofing and tiling, laundry and mudroom rebuilds, open-plan living conversions where we remove or reframe walls, timber floor replacement, feature timber wall linings, staircase rebuilds, and cosmetic renovations that bring dated 80s and 90s homes into a modern coastal style. We also handle the outdoor side of a renovation — new decks, pergolas and alfresco areas that connect the reno to the yard.
Carpentry-led renovations
Because we are carpenters first, the structural and joinery work that underpins a renovation is done in-house rather than subcontracted out. Wall removals and reframing, new openings for doors and windows, floor levelling, roof and ceiling framing, linings, architraves, skirtings, built-in storage and custom joinery are all handled by our own team. That means one set of hands and one set of standards on the parts of your renovation that are hardest to fix later.
Quality and compliance
Every Shore Carpentry renovation is built to the National Construction Code and NSW standards, including waterproofing requirements in wet areas. Structural changes are engineered and signed off. Where a DA or CDC is required, we point you in the right direction with Central Coast Council or your certifier so approvals do not stall your project. We keep the site tidy at the end of every day, protect finished surfaces until handover, and walk the completed job with you before we call it done.
Clear communication from quote to handover
You deal directly with the carpenters doing the work — no call centres, no layers of admin. We set out a realistic sequence and timeline before we start, keep you updated as the job progresses, and let you know straight away if something on site changes the plan. Most of the renovation work we do comes from repeat clients and referrals, and that only happens when people are kept in the loop.
Why Central Coast homeowners choose Shore Carpentry
Locally owned and operated, fully licensed and insured, 20+ years of hands-on carpentry, and a reputation built almost entirely on word-of-mouth. We are not a franchise or a fly-in operator — we live and work on the Central Coast, and most of our jobs come from previous clients and referrals in Gosford, Erina, Wamberal, Terrigal, Avoca, Copacabana, Kincumber, Woy Woy and Umina.

Common questions
- How long does a home renovation take on the Central Coast?
- A single-room renovation typically runs 2–4 weeks. A whole-home renovation usually takes 8–16 weeks depending on scope, structural changes and trade scheduling. We give you a realistic timeline at quote stage and update you weekly.
- Do I need council approval for my renovation?
- Most internal renovations are exempt or fall under a Complying Development Certificate (CDC). Structural changes, extensions or facade work often need a DA through Central Coast Council. We can point you to the right pathway before you commit.
- Can I stay in the house during the renovation?
- For bathroom or kitchen-only renos, usually yes — we isolate the work zone and keep dust down. For whole-home or multi-room renos, most clients prefer to move out for the messier weeks. We'll advise honestly based on your project.
- Do you handle plumbers, electricians and tilers?
- Yes. We project-manage every trade so you have one point of contact from quote to handover. All our trade partners are licensed, insured and used to working to our standards.
- How much does a home renovation cost on the Central Coast?
- Bathroom renos typically start around $25k, kitchens around $30k, and whole-home renos vary widely based on size and finish. We provide fixed-price quotes after a free on-site consultation so you know exactly what you're paying.
