Carpenter Central Coast
General Carpentry on the Central Coast
Everyday carpentry for Central Coast homeowners — skirtings, door hanging, repairs and the small jobs done properly.

Overview
General carpentry is the backbone of every renovation, extension and repair — the fixing, framing, hanging, trimming and finishing that ties every other trade together. Shore Carpentry provides general carpentry services across the Central Coast for homeowners, builders and property managers who want a licensed, reliable carpenter for the jobs that do not fit neatly into any other category.
Over 20 years on the coast we have done just about every general carpentry job a home can throw at us: hanging doors, cutting in architraves and skirtings, fixing subfloors, replacing floorboards, installing built-in shelving, patching in weatherboards, framing internal walls, installing insulation, hanging plasterboard, cutting openings for new windows, boxing in exposed beams and pipes, fitting out garages and sheds, and dozens of other tasks that a good carpenter handles without fuss.
Where general carpentry differs from specialist work is scope and flexibility. On many jobs the client wants a carpenter for a week to knock over a list of tasks that have been building up — hang three doors, replace a rotted architrave, box in a bulkhead over the fridge, install some shelving in the garage, refit a wardrobe interior. We are happy to book blocks of time and work through a list, giving you a fixed-price quote for the whole job or a transparent hourly rate for open-ended tasks.
For builders and other trades we are often called in as second-fix carpenters — hanging internal doors, fitting architraves and skirting, installing timber floor over new joists, boxing in for cornices, fitting out laundries and mudrooms, and detailing the trim work that finishes a build. We work cleanly, arrive on program, and do not need to be babysat.
Common general carpentry jobs we handle across the Central Coast include internal and external door replacement and re-hanging, skirting, architrave and cornice replacement, timber floorboard replacement and squeak repair, subfloor and bearer/joist repair from termite or moisture damage, wall framing for new rooms, ensuite additions and studies, plasterboard patching, installation and cornice work, insulation batts to walls, ceilings and subfloors, weatherboard patch repair and replacement, fascia and barge board replacement, handrail and balustrade installation, garage and shed fit-out including shelving, workbenches and sheeting, boxing in of pipes, meters and structural elements, rot and pest damage repair to timber elements, and storage solutions such as pantries, linen cupboards and under-stair storage.
Every job is done to code and to a standard we are happy to put our name on. We arrive on time, protect floors and furniture, clean up daily, and do not leave the site until the job is complete and every offcut is removed. If a job turns out bigger than the initial scope — hidden termite damage behind a wall, rot in a subfloor, wiring that needs an electrician — we stop, tell you what we have found, and get your approval before continuing.
We are happy to do one-off small jobs (minimum call-out charge applies) as well as multi-week engagements. For rental properties and holiday homes we can quote per-property maintenance packages so your investment stays presentable between guests or tenants.
Shore Carpentry is a fully licensed and insured NSW builder — Home Building Compensation Fund covered on jobs over $20,000, workers compensation and public liability on every site regardless of size. Every general carpentry job carries a written workmanship warranty. Book a free on-site quote or send through your list of jobs and we will come out, cost it up and get it done properly the first time.

Common questions
- Do you take on small jobs?
- Yes — we regularly handle single-task jobs like hanging a door, replacing a rotted architrave or fitting shelving. A minimum call-out charge applies for very small jobs; often it is more economical to bundle several small tasks into one visit.
- Do you charge hourly or fixed price?
- Both. For scoped jobs we give a fixed-price quote after seeing the work. For open-ended or investigative work (like chasing hidden rot) we work at a transparent hourly rate with a written estimate of hours upfront.
- Are you licensed for structural work?
- Yes — Shore Carpentry is a fully licensed NSW builder, so we can legally handle structural framing, load-bearing wall alterations and any work requiring builder certification, not just non-structural carpentry.
- Do you work with property managers and holiday rentals?
- Regularly. We can quote per-property maintenance packages, respond quickly to urgent repairs, and coordinate directly with your property manager on invoicing and access.
- What areas do you cover?
- The full Central Coast — Terrigal, Avoca, Wamberal, Erina, Gosford, Wyoming, The Entrance, Killcare, Umina, Woy Woy, Kincumber, Copacabana, MacMasters Beach and everywhere between.
