Cafe Servery Window & Timber Bench

This Gosford cafe wanted to serve directly to the footpath without losing the ability to close the shop up securely at night. A standard window would not do it — the opening needed to work as a serving counter, a display frontage and a lockable shopfront all at once.

We framed the new opening, installed the servery window and built a solid timber bench that runs the full width of the frontage. The bench is at correct serving height, with an overhang that gives customers somewhere to rest a coffee, and it is finished to handle constant wiping down and heavy daily use. The head of the opening was trimmed properly so the structure above is fully supported.

Commercial fit-out work leaves no room for downtime, so the job was staged to keep the cafe trading. The finished servery changed the way the business operates, pulling in passing trade that previously walked past the door.
